 Registration Benefits Minimize

Here's some of what you get for registering on RandyMorter.com:

When you register on RandyMorter.com, you'll get the following benefits and more:

  • First, you'll see links to higher quality mp3s - that's right - 320kbps encodings - of my songs that you can download. Unregistered users only get the sucky 128kbps mp3 files.
  • When you register, you'll also get access to Microsoft Media Player playlists of my entire CDs - at the high quality level. There's only one of those for non-registered fans (you find it and you can use it)!
  • You'll get access to high resolution copies of my CD artwork.
  • You'll get access different versions of songs. This feature got some good feedback in the past - you can download copies of the working versions of songs so you can hear the progress it goes through. Again, only registered users get access to 'em.
  • Registered users get access to some material that Randy used to make available on another website, including his guitar player notebook and recording studio techniques.
  • Registered users can post to the forum and comment on Randy's blog.
  • Registered users get access to the "Backstage" area of the web which includes downloads of song ideas in their rawest form.

Note: as of 7/27/2006 not all of these features are available, but some are and the rest are coming! Don't delay - register today!

What you won't get:

Randy won't bug ya with a bunch of junk email. He won't give out your info to anyone else. Simple as that. He just wants to know how many fans he's got. Once in a while he might send out an email, but no more than 1 every 3 months.

There's no approval or anything - once you register you have access to the rest of the site - the stuff you really want!

 Registration / Login Problems Minimize
Read some information about how to solve registration or login problems.

Problems logging on after you've registered?

Most login problems are due to issues with your browser security and cookie settings. This website DOES use cookies for registered users, as well as for some non-registered user things such as tracking whether you've responded to surveys.

We don't put any cookies on your site that can be used to track what you're doing on any other website, or that do anything other than serve as an indicator to track whether you're a registered user on this website (or to track survey responses). We don't like worrying about what websites are doing to our computers either, and don't want to do anything to make visitors mad because we did something like that.

Also, this site is hosted as a child website on our main server which has a domain name "ramwaresoftware.com". That is the domain that the cookies need to be allowed to come from. (You can access this site using http://www.RandyMorter.com or http://www.RAMwareSoftware.com/RandyMorter. But the parent domain is the one that you need to allow the cookies to come from since that is what is used by the cookies).

That said, here's how you can usually get things set up to access the additional Registered User content on this site using Microsoft Internet Explorer (Version 6). You should only need to do one or the other of these (either add this site to your Trusted Sites zone or Allow Cookies from RandyMorter.com):

Add this site to your Trusted Sites zone

  1. Click on the "Tools | Internet Options..." menu item.
  2. Click on the Security tab.
  3. Click on the “Trusted Sites” image
  4. Click on the “Sites” button
  5. In the “Add this Web site to the zone” text box, type “*.ramwaresoftware.com” and click the “Add” button. You’ll see the text you just typed has been added to “Web sites:” list box.
  6. In the “Add this Web site to the zone” text box, type “*.randymorter.com” and click the “Add” button. You’ll see the text you just typed has been added to “Web sites:” list box.

  1. Click on the “OK” button on the "Trusted Sites" dialog box
  2. Click the “OK” button on the “Internet Options” dialog box.
  3. Now when you navigate to http://www.RandyMorter.com (or http://www.RAMwareSoftware.com/RandyMorter), in the lower left corner of your Internet Explorer browser you should see that it indicates the site is a “Trusted Site”, and you should be able to log on and see the extra content.

Allow Cookies from RandyMorter.com

If you browse to this site with Microsoft Internet Explorer and you see the "Blocked Cookies" image in the status bar at the bottom of the browser (like in the image below), your settings prevented you from accepting cookies (hooray for IE!).

To allow cookies for just this site, do this:

  1. Double click on the "Blocked Cookies" image (the cookie with the red dot that has the white line across it).
